Heart Portraits Collection
Text courtesy of El Taller Hn.
Each piece in the collection is an expression of the emotions the artist experiences during her period as a university student in the United States and her return to Tegucigalpa, her hometown. Heart Portraits is inspired by the figures and colors of the urban context and the contrast with nature and its nuances.
Each work in the exhibition could represent one day of the artist’s diary after her return to Honduras. Because of this, the paintings were made in different layers of color and shapes that result in whimsical and abstract figures. Some of these figures sometimes seem to have more movement and others might seem more static, such as the days, emotions, and situations experienced in a city like Tegucigalpa.
This series contains more than 40 works carried out between 2015 and 2017.
