2017: Abstract Series, City

black series

This series of paintings was the last created for Helga's solo show: Heart Portraits, where she established her style as a painter. The colors explore the colors of Tegucigalpa, her hometown while continuing the expression of emotions started in her work of 2016.  Certain pieces were painted on recycled vinyl banners as a way to counteract the wastefulness found in the city and make something considered trash into beauty.   Unlike the other series in the Heart Portraits Collection, the color pallate introduces more earth tones, and ticker black marks to show movement and create balance within the works.
